Lan M. Nguyen is the project coordinator for CLMER's High-Quality Minority Teacher Preparation (HQMTP) Project. Ms. Nguyen graduated from Saigon University - Faculty of Letters in 1973. She taught middle school children in Vietnam for more than ten years before coming to the United States in 1994. Lan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at CSU Fullerton where her name was consistently on the Dean’s list. Lan has taught for a language program at Saint Barbara School. Lan is fluently bilingual in Vietnamese and English. At CLMER, Lan Nguyen recruits applicants and works with HQMTP Project candidates on a daily basis. Lan shares her learning and teaching experiences with all the candidates throughout the process of acquiring Teaching Credentials. Her focus within the project is helping candidates from different ethnic backgrounds to pass all the required tests and courses successfully. Through her personal experiences, Lan is passionate about helping HQMTP candidates overcome all challenges they may encounter to reach the goal of becoming a good teacher. She is also actively involved in Vietnamese community activities and serves in many multicultural projects at her parish. |
